Craig is the agency’s strategy leader and responsible for the overall satisfaction of all Gumas clients. Based on Craig’s 25+-year history of running high-profile accounts such as Microsoft, Sony Pictures, Carl’s Jr., Esurance, NASDAQ, The Walt Disney Co., AOL and The Miller Brewing Co., this is a very comfortable role for him.
Craig passionately serves as an executive leader on the Board of Directors of the Giants Community Fund, his most rewarding side-job.
With a degree in Broadcast Management, Craig graduated from the University of Southern California with honors including the prestigious President’s Award as well as three national championships in speech and debate.
Craig still plays baseball, softball and basketball regularly and would be playing ice hockey, too, if he only knew how to skate. Craig lives north of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Rafael, CA with his wife, Candace and sons, Lucas and Jake.
How do you define great advertising?
Great advertising must accomplish three goals: One – be memorable. Two – be relevant. Three – motivate me, either emotionally or physically, to do something.
What inspires your work?
Watching the level of respect for Gumas grow amongst clients, prospects and the advertising industry.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m currently playing in three softball leagues, one hardball league and playing pick-up basketball on my “off” days.
Where were you born?
Born in Arlington, VA, raised in Burbank, CA and lived here in SF since 1987.
What’s the most unusual thing you know how to do?
I’m pretty good at naming college mascots; of course, now I’m going to get tested and fail miserably.
